What are planktons?                

1. Planktons - organisms that float at or near the ocean surface.

 

A. Zooplanktons are microscopic organisms who make their own food by

 

photosynthesis.

 

B. Phytoplankton are microscopic plants who make their own food by

 

photosynthesis.

 

2. Nektons – are free swimmers who swim in open ocean.

How do clams/oysters survive in the intertidal zone during high and low tides?

They have hard shells; they need to anchor themselves to stay put; they need to adapt to long periods under water and being without water; they bury themselves for protect

   

Which zone has the largest amount of marine life?                                                                                   The neritic zone has the largest concentration of marine life. It covers the continental shelf.
